Clearing Old Bank Reconciliations

When things have gone seriously wrong with a prior bank reconciliation (despite the warnings that MoneyWorks provide, people do insist on trying to force the bank balances), it is sometimes easier just to clear the old bank reconciliations and redo them. To clear old bank reconciliations:

  1. Select the bank reconciliation that you want to clear using the Load Old button as described in Reviewing and Reprinting a Previous Reconciliation
  1. Click on the Cog button that appears, and select Clear all reconciliations from this one

You will be asked for confirmation. Note that all subsequent reconciliations done against that bank account will also be cleared.

  1. Check that the Date and Closing Bank balance are correct, and continue the reconciliation in the normal manner

Presumably you will attempt not to repeat whatever mistakes were made in the previous attempt.
