Asset Categories are used to group assets together for reporting purposes, and are also a quick way to assign the depreciation type and rate to an individual asset. Because every asset must be associated with a category, the asset categories need to be specified before assets can be entered.
To view the asset categories:
Choose Show>Asset Categories
The asset category list will be displayed. Asset categories can be added or modified in the usual manner.
